NEW PROGRAM PROVIDES FREE MEALS:
The USDA has issued waivers for public schools across the country to provide free meals to all students as part of COVID-19 relief. This program is scheduled to continue through the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
All reimbursable breakfast and lunch meals will be provided at no charge for the duration of this program. Please note that students will continue to be charged for a la carte food items.
WHAT IS A REIMBURSABLE MEAL?
A reimbursable lunch includes 3-5 meal components (meat or meat alternative, grain/bread, fruit, vegetable, and milk), one of which must be a fruit or vegetable. A reimbursable breakfast includes at least three of the offered items including one fruit or vegetable.
WHEN WILL THIS START?
As of Monday, September 14th, 2020, CPCSC students will not be charged for reimbursable meals.
WILL SCHOOL MENUS CHANGE DUE TO THIS PROGRAM?
No changes are planned to our school menus. Menus are available via our MealViewer Program.
WHAT IF I STILL WANT TO PAY FOR MY CHILD’S MEALS?
While we will not be charging for reimbursable meals, we welcome any donations to our Food Service Angel Fund. In all Clark-Pleasant Schools, no child is denied a meal. The Angel Fund is used to cover students' negative lunch account balances.

21st Century Scholars: Scholarship Program for Students
High school is right around the corner. And college isn’t far off either! As an Indiana middle school student, you may qualify for a scholarship that can help you pay for your college tuition. You can enroll as a Scholar as early as 7th grade – but no later than June 30th of your 8th grade year. There are a few things you’ll need to do first – like keeping your grades up, pledging to do your best and completing activities each year of high school. Plus, you’ll need to meet a few eligibility requirements.
ELIGIBILITY
To apply for the 21st Century Scholars Program, your student must:
- Be a resident of Indiana, both when applying and when receiving the scholarship (determined by the residency of the parent or legal guardian).
- Be one of the following:
- U.S. citizen or U.S. national (includes natives of American Samoa or Swain’s Island)
- U.S. permanent resident who has an I-151, I-551 or I-551C (Alien Registration Receipt Card)
- A non-citizen with one of the following designations:
- Refugee
- Asylum Granted
- Indefinite Parole and/or Humanitarian Parole
- Cuban-Haitian Entrant, Status Pending
- Be enrolled in the 7th or 8th grade at an Indiana public or private school accredited by the Indiana Department of Education. Children in foster care may apply after the 8th grade. Homeschooled students are not eligible for the 21st Century Scholars program.
- Be a member of a family that meets the income eligibility guidelines. A student in foster care does not need to meet this requirement
